Akita The Royal Japanese Dog



Akita dog as the name of breed suggests is from Japan. It is a very big dog. He is very strong and intimidating. Originally he was used as a guard dogs for royal families in Japan, but later on used for hunting as it can track and hunt big animals like wild boar, deer and black bear. He never backs down and is very loyal to his masters. He cannot be frightened. Even though he is very fierce and intimidating but if trained properly then he is very loving, respectful, affectionate and playful.

Akita dog is not meant for cities as it hates to live in small places like apartments. He needs big open spaces. He is quite sensitive and hates being alone. He can tolerate quite cold weathers but cannot survive in hot weather.

Even though this dog is quite affectionate, he doesn’t like children much and should not be left with small kids or infants. He is not friendly with other dogs or strangers.

A bad news is that this dog sheds a lot and drools too. So if you are allergic to this physically or mentally then this dog is not for you. Though this dog is usually in good health but can get fat easily if not given regular exercise.

This dog intelligence level is not very high and he is little difficult to train. He has tendency to bark or howl a lot and can be a nuisance if living in apartments or small homes. This dog is big in size and need lots of exercise.

Best way to make Akita social is that when it is young pup, he should be exposed to as many people as possible so he comes in contact with strangers and overcome aloofness.

Adult Akita weighs about 100 pounds and thus is quite heavy dog. It is very essential to give him proper training otherwise it can be a problem.



Airedale Terrier King Of All Terriers





Airedale Terrier is also called the king of all terriers as it is biggest of them all. This dog originated in Yorkshire state of Britain.  Since there are two rivers flowing through Yorkshire namely Aire and Wharfe thus this dog was used on the land in between the two rivers to catch otters and rats. This dog is also very intelligent and thus it was extensively used during World War I for delivering letters to British Headquarters intelligence and for also for its strength and stamina as work dog.

This dog is not meant for cities and hates living in apartments. It is not easy for first time pet owners to own this dog and it is always better if you have previous experience with dogs. It doesn’t like to be alone and it doesn’t tolerate much hot or cold weather.

This dog is very affectionate to the family and with the kids. Airedale loves to play with kids and also play with other dogs. He is not much friendlier with strangers but he doesn’t attack them either.

Airedale is easy to groom and doesn’t shed much. It has potential to gain weight if not exercised properly.

Since this dog is very intelligent so he is easy to train. They bark and howl a lot and are full of energy most of time.

Afghan Hound Dog From Afganistan



Afghan hound is very classy and elegant to look at. Looks more like a model doing ramp walk than a dog. Its hair is so silky and gait elegant. This is one of the oldest known breed of Dogs. It hails from Afghanistan and is said to be domesticated for more than 2000 years. Originally it was called Tazi In Afghanistan.

It is well adapted to city living and is happily lives in small apartments. It can also bear extreme hot and cold weather so you can pet it anywhere in world. It is not much demanding so even if you are first time dog owner, it is fine for you, though it do not like to be alone and needs you most of the time.

It is very affectionate dog and is very friendly in nature. It loves children and thus if you have small kids at home, this dog suits your home just fine.

It is big in size and does have shedding hair problem. It is not easy to groom nor is it easy to train even though the dog is quite intelligent. He doesn’t bark much but he needs lots of exercise daily. He is also of playful nature.

He is usually 2 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds and lives about 10 to 12 years. In wild he can run long distances and was originally used as hunting dog both in mountains and deserts of Afghanistan.  Thus you should be careful because he would hunt cats of your neighbors or squirrels in your garden.





















Affenpinscher

This is very small dog usually 9 to 11 inches in height. It is German in origin and is also called Monkey Terrier because its translation from German to English is Ape. It became popular in 2002 but as of now it is rare breed.

                       These cute dogs are quite adaptable to living in apartments and thus a true companion of man in high rise buildings and cities. They are easy to train though they cannot be house trained. They do not like to be alone and would like to sit in middle of whole family just like German shepherd. They can tolerate both heat and cold but cannot tolerate extreme hot or cold weather.

                        They are quite friendly dogs but unfortunately not much friendly with children. They are quite friendly with other dogs and even strangers.

                        They do not shed nor do they drool. They are easy to groom and these dogs are quite intelligent and they do not bark much.

                     They are quite playful and they are full of energy. Quite likeable dog and if you can get one then you will not regret your decision.
